Spiritual Reflection

1.
I had three spiritual strengths which were Worship, Contemplative, and Serving. I think all three of them are true about me. I think to improve my relationship with God I have spend time alone with God every morning so that I can start my day to worship him by myself. That way I can be at peace and humbled so that when I go to school I can worship him through serving others. Being humble is to me the most important factor of being a good christian. And the only best way of becoming humble is to go to the most holy and incomparable being which is God.

I can stretch myself to experience God through the other 4 spiritual pathways. By experience God through relationships or activities I can attend bible studies or prayer meetings. Or by taking nature walks alone I can experience God through Creation. And also just by reading the bible and studying it I can learn much about him and feel his presence.

During this class we got to practice using a very useful site for researching careers.The information was very in depth and reliable. For example: it told you the different requirements, salaries, percentage of popularity rise, etc. We also learned about how we should know and use our learning style according to what it is. I am a kinetic learning style so I learn the best with different creative activities. It also said that kinetic learners fidget a lot while listening to lectures which is also very true.

This class was similar to the last one because we took a bunch of other test. I took these kinds of tests before so I knew what to do. These test were to categorize my personality. It match perfectly and I didn't learned anything new about myself, so most of it was just tedious. I also took two other tests on how anxious I am about tests, and my learning style. Taking these test were still fun even though I didn't learn anything new because I also got to compare with others. How this could relate to my college application is pretty obscure. But I guess it does have some benefit towards it.

This class was the most interesting of all because I found out what my kind of job my talents would lead up to. I was satisfied with the careers that were recommended to me because they were the types of careers I wanted. I know this test is not 100% sure and I hope it isn't because some other careers I wanted weren't on my list either. But Mrs. Gunther said that we would change over time and I also believe that that is true. Taking the SDS test was kind of like predicting your future which was pretty interesting.

As we read about the several stories about how each person viewed themselves according to a their talents, it gave me a quick review about myself and how I view myself. It made me think about how i would use my talents effectively and productively as the two servants in the parable. The other memorable lesson was the career activity where we listed the most important factors that we find in a career. It gave me some confidence on what kind of career I would like to choose. It showed me that I was not like one of the people who didn't know where to go after college but one who was already determined about my job which is probably a big advantage.

This class was more about talents. It was a little more interesting than the first one. Talents are god-given gifts that he gives us to serve him or yourself. Like the three men in the parable we are not all given the same amount of talents. Some have more and some have less. That seems a little unfair for an unequal distribution of talents but I guess God wanted a difference to make sure the world doesn't get too banal. When I was writing out my own talents I was just wondering how long it took, and realized how unsure I was of myself. Another thought that came to mind was how much more simpler life would be if we all had one ultimate talent and we would live on toward that talent, instead of looking for one.

During Mrs.Gunther's class I learned many new things about the wisdom mentioned in Proverbs. Some lessons from Proverbs are: not to commit adultery, to keep wisdom in your heart, to fear God, and to thirst for wisdom. We learned also about how we change over time. Our priorities and choices change as well as our physical characteristics. Her classes are quite slow and boring as well as having nothing to do with career choice.

1. Narrative writing made me write in the first person perspective which made it easier for me to write and made the paper more like a conversation.
2. What are relevant and necessary ideas depends on the person, but reading and editing and then re-editing can help you find unnecessary thoughts or ideas.
3. By filling most of the paper with an interesting story, and then revealing a deep thought at the end helped me create a unique piece of writing and meet the expectations of a narrative essay.
4. For getting the audience interested in my essay, I tried to pick an unique topic that nobody has ever done before, and tried to add a bit of humor which was the hardest part.
5. My personal experience was a very hard and tough time for me, but interestingly I forgot about the pain and my pride remains of this experience. And I think in this story I tell everything with confidence and pride in what I have accomplished.
6. Because I am composed of three cultures: Korea, America, and Chinese. Losing my two years experience as a Chinese kid would be like losing one third of me.

a wide range of facts, although a couple of times he seems to be too biased on how America intervened

and saved Korea from dark times. Other than that, the writer shows a collection of deep knowledge, sincere respect,

and some captivating description in this article about Kim Dae-jung.

Another shock in the news was described in this article of how Yang Yong-eun, beat the

world golf champion, Tiger Woods. This article shows every detail of the defeat, using many

golf terms that I couldn't understand well. But the writer still expresses a sense of strong emphasis

on the enormous feat that Yang succeeded that many other golfers cannot do.

good ideas

A good idea to write about is an idea that is hidden and unique. In these good ideas, the writer can find another collection of other interesting ideas which he can write about within that one good idea. If we take the example of a puzzle, one by one we match the pieces together, and to each piece there are a different number of connections. When we finally fit a "good" piece in, there are two or three other connections to connect other pieces to that one "good" piece. When all the pieces are at there places they make up the complete picture. The hardest aspect of making a complete picture, is finding the "good" pieces, or the good ideas.
